2022 was the debut year of the Prototype Cup Germany. Sports car prototype racing cars with LMP3 (LMP = Le Mans Prototype) homologation are on the grid. The cars have a closed cockpit and a V8 unit engine from Nissan. Ravenol is the official lubricant partner of the Prototype Cup Germany and team partner of Aust Motorsport and Konrad Motorsport. The RAVENOL logo is clearly visible on the windscreen of all vehicles. The popularity of the sports car prototype motorsport category is growing, which is also reflected in the car manufacturers' involvement in the top class (LMH and LMDh) as part of the FIA WEC (World Endurance Championship), which also includes the legendary 24-hour race at Le Mans.
