The Public Race Days: the iconic event around the quarter-mile battles for private drivers has been held at the Hockenheimring since 2005. Therefore, the hobby racers once again will travel to the Hockenheimring in August to demonstrate their quarter-mile racing skills. But the speed and acceleration fanatics won’t be the only ones that will get what they need. At the same time, a brand-independent tuning meeting at the Mercedes Arena will make the tuning enthusiasts happy.
In 11th and 12th August, every visitor who wants to battle it out with an opponent over the 402.33-metre distance with his vehicle – no matter if car or bike – will have the opportunity to do so. In different categories, two drivers will fight with one another on two separate tracks. The special feature in this event: you don’t need a racing license: a road-legal car, a valid driving license, the courage to demonstrate your skills in a motor-racing competition and the ability to squeeze the maximum out of your vehicle are enough. Fun is the top priority in the Public Race Days and every hobby racer will get their money’s worth. The iconic Public Race Challenges traditionally feature the categories VW, automobile and motor bike and the battle for the fastest driver trophy will be determined in the evening on the drag strip.
In addition to the performances of the hobby racers, professional dragster drivers will entertain the crowds during the ‘Test and Tune’ sessions with special demonstration run, thus making for smoke and speed to the max! And those who want to witness the bhp-monsters battling it out for the European Drag Racing crown can do so at Hockenheim one week later: in the NitrOlympX, held from 16th to 18th August.
