- Championship decision in the Eifel
- STT – three letters that stand for thrilling and attractive motor sport
- Ford GT Turbo Evo – the new motor-racing super car
It’s time for the latest race of the season at RAVENOL’s partner circuit, the legendary Nürburgring. For Thorsten Klimmer (#169) it’s about keeping his clean sheet. Prior to the final two-race event of the season, the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup-Pilot scored as many points as possible and therefore is regarded as the hottest favourite to clinch the overall title.

The ‘Spezial-Tourenwagen-Trophy’, STT, has been an inherent part of the German motor-racing calendar since 1986. It was smiled at in the beginning but quickly turned into one of the most spectacular German race series that soon was regarded as a synonym for racing with spectacular and powerful vehicles equipped with huge aero components and making for a great sound. More and more often, professional racing drivers opted for contesting STT races to battle it out with ambitious amateurs. In the 2019 season, the STT grid featured the Porsche 997 GT3 R, Ferrari 458 GT3, Mercedes AMG SLS GT3, Nissan GT-R GT3, Pumaxs RT, VW Golf GTI Cup, Seat Leon TCR, Opel Astra OPC, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3 and more, with top stars such as Kurt Thiim, Roland Asch, Harald Grohs, Olaf Manthey or Jürgen Alzen making appearances in the field.
In the past months, the latter, Jürgen Alzen, worked hard on getting a special project going: the endurance-racing specialist and former DTM developed the Ford GT Turbo Evo for the 2019 season and at Hockenheim, the vehicle made its STT debut.
The 1225kg Ford GT Turbo Evo is powered by a 700bhp 4.4-litre Roush Yates V8 Bi-turbo engine equipped with two turbo chargers that makes for massive acceleration. To make sure that the engine is lubricated well even at the very limit it relies on the racing engine oil RAVENOL RFS SAE 15W-50 featuring a special wolfram additive. At the same time, the RAVENOL gearbox oil LS SAE 75W-90 that was specially developed for the use in limited-slip differentials is recommended for the six-speed X-Track Grand gearbox type 386.
RAVENOL has been the official lubricant partner of the series since 2016 and provides optimum lubricants for all the application areas and for all the vehicles competing the series.
