From 20th to 23rd June, the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife will be the venue of the endurance-racing season highlight for GT vehicles and touring cars.
As usual, some 200,000 Visitors are expected to travel to the Eifel and witness the 160 cars race in the tradition-rich ‘Green Hell’ twice around the clock. And in the centre of paddock they once again will find a very special eye-catcher: the RAVENOL Ferris wheel: with its height of nearly 40 metres, it provides the motor-racing enthusiasts a spectacular view of both the race action and the idyllic Eifel landscape.
It goes without saying that the teams and drivers are extremely excited and in pleasant anticipation as the preparations for the prestigious 24h Race have been running flat out for quite a while.
One of the most experienced teams on the grid definitely is RAVENOL partner Schmickler Performance that will contest the 2019 edition of the famous event with several Porsches Cayman GT4 CS. The motor-racing team around master mechanic Markus Schmickler has been a successful motor-sport competitor since 2003. On the basis of an authorised garage that was founded over 60 years ago, Schmickler Performance could gather experiences in all the areas when it comes to handling racing cars and racy road vehicles and offers maintenance and service for both road and racing cars. The vehicles used in the championships are assembled and enhanced completely in house and with the technical support of RAVENOL. Over the course of these years, Schmickler gathered particularly extensive experiences around Porsche and BMW – from road vehicles to building thoroughbred racing cars on the highest level. On their own test bench, the car performance is analysed and controlled. This also applies to the Cayman GT4 CS with its aluminium 6-cylinder 3,8 litre flat engine that produces 385bhp and will have to cope with extreme stresses and strains, in the 24h Race. In this situation, optimum engine protection is a must and will be provided by the future oriented fully synthetic engine oil RAVENOL SSL SAE 0W-40 that currently has got the following approvals: MB-approval 229.5, Renault RN0700, Renault RN0710, Porsche A40, VW 502 00, VW 505 00, BMW Longlife-01, License: API SN, MB approval 226.5)
RAVENOL is technical partner of GT3 and GT4 teams
Thanks to being technical supplier of numerous teams, the RAVENOL logo will be placed well visible on cars in different classes. RAVENOL racing fluids designed on PAO basis (Poly-alpha-olefins) and featuring the new USVO®-Technology will be used in numerous racing cars, such as the Audi R8 LMS as well as RS3 LMS, Lamborghini Huracan GT3, Dodge Viper, BMW M6 GT3 und M4 GT4, Porsche Cayman GT4 CS or the Toyota GT86.
Meanwhile, the Audi Sport Seyffarth R8 LMS Cup held in the 24h Race support programme will represent the RAVENOL colours throughout the entire race meeting as it is supplied with RAVENOL lubricants – and the same applies to the ‘RCN Rundstrecken Challenge Nürburgring’ with its 175-car field.
